We Believe!

The truth is, life can be hard. The rest of the truth is, God can meet us and change us in the midst of our pain. Emotional struggles, spiritual confusion, destructive behaviors, hurtful experiences, personal emptiness—there is hope in Jesus Christ. “We Believe” is a ministry of recovery for those who struggle with emotional pain, addiction, codependency or other things that make life hard.

The Christian faith is concerned with every area of life.  It is truly the ultimate recovery movement. Unlike some recovery and twelve step groups which focus almost exclusively on one area of addiction or bondage, the Christian faith is about recovering the whole person.  The moment we come to Christ, the Holy Spirit begins healing and reshaping our entire lives.

We Believe can help individuals step from brokenness to freedom and abundant life. Grounded in Scripture, built around recovery, centered on Christ, open to all and confidential, these meetings provide an opportunity to share our experiences, strengths and hopes, and to find the life-changing power of God.

Statement of Purpose

We Believe is a group of men and women who gather for mutual support. The only requirement to join in is a desire for help with a problem such as, but not limited to, addiction, co-dependency, or personal brokenness.  We share in a general way from our own experiences, and how we have found hope and recovery by the power of the Living God through Jesus Christ, as revealed to us in the Holy Bible.

Although the group is not directly affiliated with any religious denomination or other 12-Step recovery group, we urge our members to take advantage of what Christian churches and 12 step groups have to offer. We believe the 12 steps of recovery as outlined in the book Alcoholics Anonymous provides an excellent design for living for anyone.

We ask those who share to do so in a general way, focusing on your own experience, refraining from abusive language and cross talk. We are here for support and encouragement. We do not attempt to fix anyone. We Believe does not insist that you believe as we do. We only ask that those who come looking for support do so with an open mind. It is written that God does not wish that any should perish and He does not make the path difficult for those who earnestly seek Him.

We Believe affirms:

  1. The centrality of the word of God.
  2. The Christian faith as a fellowship of believers.
  3. The conscious dependence on God’s Holy Spirit.
  4. The reality of FREEDOM in Christ
