Music

Our music ministry is an exciting part of our worship of God. We are a church with a rich history, yet our culture is modern. How we reconcile these two seemingly conflicting ideas is a challenge faced by all churches. We at Buffalo Covenant choose not to throw the proverbial baby out with the bathwater. We sing many new songs here, but we do not abandon the hymns and songs of past generations.

Our music team exists to facilitate worship, not to perform. During worship, the audience is God, and the congregation plays and sings for him.

Worship is a response to God’s love for us - the more we are aware of who God is, the more we can worship him. The atmosphere we try to create is an open one, where you can feel free to worship God in whatever way you want - you can be free to raise your hands, to kneel in worship, to clap and sing loudly with joy to our God, who is worthy of all praise.

Our music director is Eric Shepherd. He and his wife Autumn, a violinist, came to us from Washington State in 2001. If you have a musical skill or talent, there may be a place for you in our music ministry.
