Eric Shepherd

A native of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Eric completed a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance from the University of Puget Sound (Tacoma, Washington) in 2000. He has worked as a freelance musician, piano instructor, accompanist, and church musician for many years. After four years as the music director at Peninsula Baptist Church in Gig Harbor, Washington, he came to Buffalo Covenant in the fall of 2001.

Eric believes that music is a powerful and important aspect of worship, though certainly worship does not equal music. As the body of Christ is diverse, so is the music we sing. He attempts to integrate old and new songs to provide everyone an opportunity to worship God and experience an encounter with Him.

In addition to Buffalo Covenant, Eric recently completed a Master of Architecture degree from the University at Buffalo. He has been married to his wife Autumn, a professional violinist, since 2000. Along with performing with the Erie (PA) Philharmonic, the Western New York Chamber Orchestra (Fredonia) and the Buffalo Philharmonic, Autumn enjoys playing with the worship team on Sunday mornings and with Eric as part of the twist violin and piano duo for weddings and other events around Buffalo.

Autumn and Eric have two beautiful girls, Naia (2004) and Chloe (2006).

Eric is the Front End Design Manager for Sayers Media Group, a web development company in Cheektowaga.
