Visiting Buffalo Covenant
What to expect when you visit
Since we don’t know what you might be expecting, we want to say a few things about what you might find if you visit Buffalo Covenant.
Leave your wallet at home
First, anyone who visits is our guest. This means we will absolutely, positively not be asking you for money. We’d love to have you fill out an information card so we can send you a letter to thank you for visiting, but we expect nothing from you.
What to wear
Our services are not formal. If you wear a suit and tie, you will be in a small minority. Please feel free to come dressed in clothes you are comfortable wearing. God’s interested in our hearts, not our clothing.
We’ll be glad to see you
We are a friendly church. We will genuinely be glad that you came to visit us, and you will likely be greeted by several people. However, nobody will ask you to stand and identify yourself, and you will not be pointed out during the worship service. You’re welcome to stay and chat following the service.
Music
Our music is a mix of old and new songs. We feel that this enriches our worship. Please feel free to sing along, or to just listen to the songs. You will probably see some people raising their hands during worship. While we believe that worshiping with our bodies is biblical and good, many people do not do this, and we do not pressure anyone to do things they are not comfortable with.
Communion
We celebrate Communion, or the Eucharist, every week. Communion was instituted by Jesus himself, and each time we share Communion together we remember his death and resurrection until he comes again. There may be servers at the front, or we may have a self-service table. Either way, you are not obligated to participate in communion, but all who believe in Jesus are welcome at the table.
Any other questions?
We look forward to seeing you soon! If you have any questions for us, please feel free to contact us and ask. We promise we’ll get right back to you.
